About Sally Carpenter _ Vermont & Beyond Portrait Photographer
I'm Sally, a photographer, storyteller, dog lover, nature enthusiast, lifelong equestrian, and firm believer that the best photographs happen when people feel comfortable enough to simply be themselves. When I'm not behind the camera, you'll usually find me wandering the Vermont woods with my dog, spending time with horses, or searching for the nearest Maple Creeme stand.
My approach is relaxed, natural, and a little adventurous—much like me. Over the years I've jumped out of an airplane (once), set off a smoke grenade in my basement (also once), and learned that some of life's best stories come from the unexpected. Whether I'm photographing a high school senior stepping into a new chapter, a couple celebrating their connection, or a family making memories together, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel authentic, meaningful, and uniquely yours.
Around here a stiff pose isn't the goal. Real laughter, genuine connection, a little spontaneity, and photographs that feel like you—that's what I'm after.
- Vermont is home, and I wouldn't trade the woods, back roads, and changing seasons for anything.
- I'm a lifelong equestrian and animal lover.
- My 90 lb dog Remy is convinced she's a lap dog.
- Ice cream is my weakness
- I believe laughter makes every photograph better.
- I never expect people to know what to do in front of a camera—that's my job.
- Road trip? Bags packed and waiting.
