Every senior session tells a different story, and Kelsey's was one of the most creative and unique of the season. A student at Kimball Union Academy, she wanted portraits that reflected different sides of her personality—from a Game of Thrones, medieval-inspired fantasy aesthetic to dreamy, artistic imagery and relaxed, natural portraits. The result was a two hour session filled with imagination, beauty, and fun, creating a collection of images that feels both timeless and completely her own.
For the first part of her session, Kelsey embraced a medieval-inspired fantasy theme, complete with flowing capes, swords, smoke grenades, and a touch of adventure. Photographed at Featherstone in Woodstock, Vermont, these images were inspired by the epic worlds of Game of Thrones and classic fantasy storytelling. One of Kelsey's close friends even joined her for a few photographs, adding another layer of fun and friendship to this creative part of the session.
Next, we traded the capes and swords for a more relaxed and natural feel, taking advantage of the beautiful summer day and the open fields at Featherstone. Inspired in part by the free-spirited vibe of Outer Banks, Kelsey wanted this portion of her senior session to feel adventurous, carefree, and authentic. The result was a collection of images filled with movement, laughter, and the simple joy of being outdoors.
For the final chapter of her senior session, Kelsey changed into her prom dresses and we created something entirely different. Drawing inspiration from fashion editorials and fine art portraiture, this portion of the session focused on soft light, elegant styling, and a dreamy, cinematic mood. The flowing gowns added a sense of grace and movement, transforming the fields and gardens of Featherstone into a setting that felt almost magical. These images brought together beauty, confidence, and creativity, creating portraits that are both timeless and artistic.
Kelsey's senior session was a wonderful reminder that senior portraits can be whatever you want them to be—creative, adventurous, artistic, and uniquely personal. From medieval-inspired fantasy imagery to carefree Outer Banks vibes and dreamy editorial portraits, this three-hour experience celebrated every side of who she is.
If you're a Kimball Union Academy student or a member of the Class of 2027 looking for senior portraits that go beyond the ordinary, I'd love to help create a session that reflects your own personality, passions, and story.
